A List...

During the day I keep thinking about things that "I must put on my Blog," then I sit down at night and can't think of anything interesting to tell you all...

So today I am going to make a list of all the interesting things and then over the next few nights I will tell you all about them!

1.  Snow; its absence and the melting process, also grass.
2.  Robins.
3.  Chipmunks - with pictures... lots of pictures...
4.  American Vacuum Cleaners - and why I hate them!
5.  The Weather, and other associated topics ... particularly certain american friends who live a few hundred miles south from me and try to scare me with stories of the wild weather I am to look forward to. Yes I mean you!
6.  Cooking - I might even post one of my secret recipes.... (My 'personally-made-up-by-me-recipes', not one I've learned here - all those of you at home you better keep checking in ... cause you know I don't normally tell - must be missing you all! LOL)
7.  Gardening - with a peculiar focus on lettuce.
8.  The Adventures Of Goldie; Part 2 Goldie Meets the Chipmunks
9.  The story of 'How God Sold My TV' will be the next installment in the 'How God Has Worked In My Life' series.
10. To be followed at some point by 'How I Ended Up As A Teacher at LAC.'
11.  My thoughts on Romans 9 is also in the works - but that will take a bit longer to finish cause I'm still having thoughts.
12.  For those who read all the way to the end of my first sermon I am also taking another look at the story of Jacob Wrestling with God, however I'm not going to write anything about that until I finish with Romans 9!
13.  I have also been reminiscing so it is possible that some teaching stories will be appearing in the next few weeks and months ... certain ex-students should be starting to worry about now, hahaha!

Does that whet your appetite??? All that interesting stuff; vacuum cleaners, the weather, stuffed toys, rodents ... just the thing to keep my vast reading public entertained! LOL

As it used to say on Danger Mouse "Tune in to find out..." (or words to that effect!)

Warning

Warning

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

This is my all time favorite poem!

Chipmunks

In front of my little house is a rock retaining wall, there is a garden along the top of the wall and lots of hidey holes amongst the rocks that make up the wall. The day before yesterday I was out taking pictures of my house (to show you all of course... :-b)

There are 12 apartments, six up and six down, very nice - I showed you the inside already. Anyway I was busy merrily clicking away and out from under a rock popped two little tenny tiny chipmunks, so I kept clicking and slowly walking towards them in the hope that I would be able to get them on screen. They are so very fast, but it turns out one of them was a poser - so got a couple of good shots!

Enjoy.
This was while I was still a little bit far away but I wasn't going to waste a moment of chipmunk stillness.

Kindly holding a pose long enough for me to do the zoom thing and focus ...

and again ... the little poser, lol.
And, then it was off ...

but not without one more photo opportunity ...

When it stops raining - Sunday according to the weather forecast - I am going to get some sunflower seeds and take Goldie out and see if I can get them to play...
