Definitely Not A Happy Day

So I am of course having lots of happy things happen I just haven't been blogging about them.

However today is already definitely not a happy day - am blogging about it because it is so funny, and also kind of very grossly horrific!!

Last night I dreamed a dream ...

I dreamed that some ultra religious people I know here in Korea (not naming any names ^^) had started a business, and they wanted me to join them. It was a cooking business. But after a short time I discovered the true nature of their business.

They were kidnapping people and turning them into pies.

(Also, strangely, their kitchen was set in a jungle gym...)

I'm not sure what horrified me more, the idea that possibly I might become a pie, or the thought that maybe they wanted me to help them produce more pies.

Suffice to say, today I do not want to eat anything remotely pie-ish!!!!

  1. Hi Cat,

Like King Nebuchadnezzar, it seems you too had a dream that troubled your spirit, and left you anxious about it's meaning. Now, I cannot help but wonder, did you go to bed feeling hungry? Did you feel guilty about eating a sweet treat that caused you to fret about your calorie intake? Some dreams are the subconscious portrayals of our unspoken thoughts. Others reflect the latent pondering of subject-matters we have not yet dealt with objectively and thoughtfully. Then, there are those that are brought to our minds as harbingers by our extra-sensory powers. Some people call it premonition. Such forewarnings or presentiments are actually insights brought to us by the Holy Spirit. Most people are unaware of this, so they simply dismiss their dreams as omens, or the after-effects of indigestion. Consequently, they give little or no thought to the dream itself, and it's possible meaning. However, Joseph, Daniel, Pharaoh Nebuchadnezzar, Eliaphaz and others knew that dreams are like epiphany or oracles, intended to transmit divine guidance or insights for our learning. Like "Daniel, we too should seek divine guidance for correct interpretation. This brings to mind Elihu's perspective of his dream. …14"Indeed God speaks once, Or twice, yet no one notices it. 15"In a dream, a vision of the night, When sound sleep falls on men, While they slumber in their beds, 16 Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction,… (Job 33:14-15). Despite his misinterpretation, God had apparently spoken to him. Regretfully, unlike Daniel, he assumed the role of interpreter without seeking God's guidance. So, the next time you have a dream, try writing it down, and ask God to help you understand it's meaning. Like Daniel, through prayerful and entreaties, you too can discern hidden things, and understand divine revelations.
